Posted on Jun 22nd, 2014

Prairie Highlands Is Celebrating Independence Day
Honor Independence Day with family and neighbors

The 2014 Prairie Highlands Annual 4th of July Independence Day Parade will take place on Friday, July 4th at 10AM. Children, adults, and family members are invited to participate in the parade and encouraged to decorate bicycles, scooters, tricycles, wagons, pets, etc. in patriotic red, white and blue, wear patriotic clothing, and bring any musical instruments like kazoos, tambourines and drums. No motorized rides are allowed.

Please bring your Parade Waiver Form and be at the pool parking lot for parade lineup at 9:30 - 9:45 a.m.  The parade will be in a circular route so everyone ends up back at the pool. Our parade route will be in the Estates beginning at the pool, walking along Roxburghe, crossing St. Andrews to Glen Eyrie, Glen Eyrie south to W. 150th Terrace, crossing St. Andrews, and back to the pool.

Prairie Highlands Neighbors are invited to celebrate Independence Day by decorating your home with American flags and festive red, white and blue decorations. It’s not a parade without spectators.  Bring your lawn chairs, even if your home is not on the parade route, and cheer the kids on!  After the parade, all are invited for refreshments that will be served at the pool.

Please RSVP to help us plan for purchasing refreshments.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!
We need older children to lead the parade and carry the banner. Can your children help? We need 6 volunteers to guard intersections while parade is crossing intersections. Can you help? If so, please contact Clare Fanelli.

Your Prairie Highlands Social Committee Clare Fanelli, Peggy Smith, Linda Hacker, Jeannie Rolf, Margaret Garret, and Barb Lawrence.
